Hello

+Pie Number of slices to send: Send
I was unable to find an 'introduce yourself' type of forum, so please forgive this post if it is in the incorrect forum.

My name is Jared and we have 7 acres in Toomsuba, MS, USA. We are really just getting started, but hope to use the land to feed our family as much as possible. There is always some project in the works.

I have a website and youtube channel where we share our experiences. Out of respect of this site I will not just post a bunch of links here, but say that the website is in my profile and our name on YouTube, Facebook, Twitter, etc, is jandjacres. Please feel free to look us up!

Obviously my interest is in permaculutre (hence why I posted the hello in this forum). To me, it just makes sense.

I look forward to poking my nose around the forms and eventually digging in to the conversation.

Thank you,

Welcome to Permies.com!

I added this to the Introductions Forum. There is a lot here, it's easy to miss.

Hi Jared, welcome to permies.com! You might want to cross post this to the Southern USA regional forum.

I would encourage you to make the link in your signature "live." Paul (Wheaton, who runs/owns this site) is quite encouraging of members promoting their own stuff via links in their signature. I think there is a space limitation, but within that limitation, feel free to link to your stuff. Then, every time you post you are promulgating your sites to the googlebots.

I find it very helpful if people have entered some location information into their profile, so that it shows up below their name (on the left, on most web browsers) with every one of their posts. Mostly I'm thinking about climate information, since what works with living systems is very climate dependent.
And then we all jump out and yell "surprise! we got you this tiny ad!"
