How do you neighbor?

When we talk about building community, trust and the resources to cultivate large sustainable systems, the details of neighboring, simple acts that build trust, is often left out of the equation. I like to bring over some of whatever crop is ripe at the moment. My neighborhood is odd, dead end street, historically rural area but since it's near the water all of the recent construction is big expensive houses with manicured landscaping done by paid workers.

One neighbor across the street has an old family farm with beautiful scottish highland cattle on waterfront pasture. We walk over to visit him and talk farmer on a pretty regular basis. My kids love to look at all his old broken down trucks and tractors. There have got to be at least twelve. The manicured mansion folks don't appreciate them as much as we do, tee hee.

Other neighbours are only on their property 3 months a year so we walk through their beautiful 250 acres of gorgeous woods and ponds for them all year, "keeping an eye on it"

Like I said, unusual neighborhood.
