An Upcycled Coop Roof (Pallet Wood)

I recently put a roof on my chicken coop made from pallet wood shingles.

Great video Larry! I'm a big fan of using what you have on hand and at least in my area, pallets are available all over the place. Thank you for including the demonstration model of how the roof would be put together.

I'm a fan of linseed oil as a preservative but have been told that it may require reapplication. Do you think you will have to apply a surface coat every once and a while or are you just going to let it ride?

I have not looked at the video.

I am assuming that the pallet wood is put on a table saw or other equipment to make a 1/2 inch board into 1/4 inch?

It is my opinion that nothing else is needed to preserve the wood similar to a wood fence.

Though as Timothy suggest that folks could use linseed oil.

Also charring the wood would be another way to preserve the wood.
