tiny house option?

Looking for tiny house options that I do not have to build myself. I can do some interior stuff such as insulation and wall finishing, can hire plumbing and electricity. I'm wondering if anyone has any thoughts about converting one of these into a 'tiny house': http://tinyhouselistings.com/home-depot-tiny-houses/

Yup, thought a lot about it. They are not necessarily inexpensive, but to go from nothing to enclosed shell in a day can be worth a LOT to a new homestead.

The house finishing, plumbing, electrical are all fairly easy and straightforward. The sticky part is foundation. Most of those are just set on the ground, or on simple blocks with no concern for frost heaves or wind. They really need a decent foundation for your climate and ground conditions with proper hurricane straps or tie-downs.

Thanks! Good thought on the hurricane straps/tie downs. We don't have a frost line here but I was thinking about tropical storms. I'll have to figure out how the tie downs work for buildings like this.

This particular building is one that I have thought about for many years as a possible 'tiny dwelling'. My recent change in life plans has caused me to consider it seriously.

I'm sure it could be done cheaper but have the basic structure delivered and assembled on site overcomes some major hurdles for me. The rest I can do piecemeal over time. Any more thoughts or ideas are welcome.

I am not soliciting, (really Paul I'm not...don't yell at me... )

We compete with these all the time. They are built for crap, and the glue in the OSB is rather nasty stuff if they are taking a run from China. We build simple timber frames for $15 a square foot (this may go up to twenty with some current cost increases for 2014) that you can put together yourself. Look around your area for a young Timberwright to cut you a frame and finish yourself.
