if the burn chamber and riser were made out of fire brick, how long would it hold up? has anyone used them and if so, how long did it last in the intense heat?

i have just started studying the RMH units, so im sure ill have many questions. lol my intent is to build an outside heated bench system for the patio. mush to learn on here for sure. great site indeed!!!

Hi kid: You need to get a copy of ianto evans book " rocket mass heaters". you can get a hard copy or an instant pdf copy on line. this book will answer most of your questions, as well give you the common terminology to discuss with others any questions you may have. As far as your current question all burn tunnels are eather firebrick or a cast core/riser
