My Mason Setup

Here is my mason bee setup. Put it out today since I noticed that the apricot trees are blooming. Seeing more wild flowers as well.

The prevailing winds are from the West so I put it up on the East side of our irrigation pump house. It is about 250 feet from our back property line where our orchard is and about the same distance from the HUGE apricot tree across the road.

Here are a couple of pictures that show the mud source I have and its relative distance from the nest site.

I forgot to mention that I had two bees emerge in the humidity chamber within 24 hours of taking it out of the fridge. I cooled them down a little and put them into the little emergence box I built (top of the nest box) One came out pretty quick and rested outside. I got my wife to show her and it flew away towards the pond. While we were watching the other one came out, did a little zig zag flight and it flew off too. I hope they remember where home is.

Steven, what type of wood did you make it out of?
Looks Like cedar?

I do not know what the wood is. I bought it from Crown Bees.
