I have access to a lot of sod, the owner says no spray was used on it with the exception of some fertilizer.
I was wondering if there is a use for this, perhaps for composting, or worm bin, or on a hugel bed or? The dirt looks to be pretty compact, clay like, and it doesn't look very rich.
Using sod for huglekulture sounds like a wonderful idea

My 2nd Location:Florida HardinessZone:10 AHS:10 GDD:8500 Rainfall:2in/mth winter, 8in/mth summer, Soil:Sand pH8 Flat
I pile it up about 4 ft high and plant potatoes in it the first year. the following year I add some garlic and onions, carrots and squash - whatever likes the soft ground..
I wouldn't worry much about the dirt quality - the grass and roots make it a pretty nice mix of organic material..
