I have a friend over at 3dp4e.org that wants to know what watt ranges we will all need for homesteading permaculture style.

I told him we need small solar panels for:

- Electric Fences (ranging from poultry to cattle)
- Water Pumps
- Lighting in buildings outside of the home
- Solar Carts for mobile energy
- Saw Mill or stationary engines of a larger size
- Vehicles like Electric Carts & Tractors

If you have ANY of this info, post it here. He will be following along (I'm converting him to Permaculture

Matt,

you need to look at the "boiler plates" of the appliances you are listing to find out how much watt they draw.
It is also important to know how many hours they are running on average in a day or month.
Also Is this planned for a complete off-grid operation?

Right, but I'm looking for ranges to help my friend's company and help us all out in a Off-The-Grid scenario for each element.

Small Solar Panels printed on 3D printers are the future.

The idea is if we all share what our needs are & we delineate ranges, they can develop small solar panels for those needs.

Fencers range anywhere from 20 watt to 200 watt panels recommended. It really depends on the size of the charger, it's efficiency, the weed load, and your solar conditions.

Awesome! 20-200 watts. Will that be an overlap with water pumps? What would their range be?
