I've been wanting to post our good friend Owen's work here for awhile. I think this video tells a bit of his story.

This is his web site...rocking chairs that shares a lot of the skill and tools he uses in making the chairs.

He is someone we admire greatly for living according to his ideals....off grid, earning a living by his craft.
Wonderful craftsman/woodsman/writer/activist.

I think it might be inspiring for folks looking for a way to make money on the homestead to see someone who has dedicated 30 plus years to a craft and has folks coming to him to seek out his chairs and baskets. A forward thinking 'farm income'.

This is something that I am very interested in. Building useful items from scratch with your bare hands, and really interacting with the wood. Would anyone happen to know anyone in Western Oregon who does this sort of thing? I am willing to make a career shift, and at 23, I have plenty of time and energy to devote to the craft
