I feel lie I should know what this is immediately. It's about 2" long and was "dispatched" by my german shepherd. She wasn't stung or hurt in any way by it.

Looks like some sorta long horn beetle. They are harmless to people and critters so no worries. They do like decaying wood and bright lights. Might want to see if any of your trees are getting soft and squishy or if he was just passing thru.

Thanks for pointing the way! Could be brown prionid, too. At least it's not an Asian Longhorn. Will definitely keep my eyes open.
