I know enough to get in trouble, but I have also learned enough to be guided by intuition instead of rigid plans. Sometimes I set off to do something simple, like cut stringers and put new steps on this naked house, but instead decide to build a porch and a place to sit and watch the sun rise over the mountain, with a cup of coffee in hand.
This small and seemingly insignificant project has turned into a long term vision.
The taller post you see on the left is the future rail height for the step up, deer proof, garden porch. It's elevated for two reasons. 1, the critters will be exiled from the plants, and 2, the goats will have day shelter underneath the raised porch, with 3 separate stalls. And since the rain catchment is right around the corner, I'll be installing watering troughs in all three.
One of my favorite truths of all time is, Action preceedes motivation". Just start. Stop worrying yourself with the end goal and just pick up the tool. What emerges will often far exceed your expectations.
Go make something awesome today.
