And are losing their hair on their backs and tails. We have had fleas bad this year, and bathe the dogs every 1-2 weeks with dawn. We put DE in their food, and on their fur.

It is not as hot as normal here, but the humintiy is very high, and the air is full of particulates. We use Rex 27% protein food, and have started giving them boiled chicken eggs

in their food. The problems existed before the cooked eggs. The dogs were getting stray chicken eggs for a while, but we have found the laying spots, and the dogs no longer

have an all-u-can-eat egg fest. They do chew and lick the bare spots.

Thanks, Randy

My Maremma looses lots of hair nowadays when we pet him. We just got a brand new one who is shedding as well, it's that time of year.

We were told the Big White Dogs should not have a high protein diet. The dog food you're feeding is very high protein and cooked eggs is quite high too. You might want to experiement with a low protein food or find an Akbash list serve or forum. Lots of people keep their LGDs on a raw diet (of chicken). Not sure how that works protein-wise. Maybe the inclusion of bones lowers it.
