6" SS tube

I have some of the above and would like to make a rocket cook stove, could someone please help with how long the vertical and horizontal tubes should be, many thanks Dave

Well, i only have made one L tube, iirc, the proportions are L1H2 minimum.

So 30cm feed, 60cm heat riser. Remember, you need a plate at the bottom, to let air pass below the fire. That part is often forgoten. And a properly working rocket is insulated all the way!

Thanks for that SA, I have already made a portable rocket inside a 5 gallon tin but the tube is only 4" dia, it works ok but could be improved, I am experimenting with the air intake plate and have found that an upright angle allows more air into the system and a slight self feed mode, it certainly burns the wood quicker but I have no way of telling if that equates to more heat output as weather conditions play a part in any tests done, cheers Dave

Thanks for the link SA, I have seen this before and it is interesting but not what I have in mind, my project is more of a scratch build with whatever I can find or reuse, cheers Dave
