I live in WI, in a beautiful hilly area with good community. I have 40 acres with woods, open, and a creek. We're two miles from a river. I live with my two youngest children who are 11 (boy) and 17 (girl). My daughter is heading off to college after this year but my son will be with me for a while yet. I have them most of the time. I also have two other children who are out of the home (20 and 22). They live an hour away. I have a good relationship with all my children and they are very important to me. I am also a homeschool teacher and a (new) midwife, working only with out of hospital birth.

I am looking to find a man to share the rest of my life with. Age wise, I prefer 45-55, although I would go a little younger for the right man. I would rather not go any older.

I want a powerful loving relationship but also a partnership, where we can do projects together, have long interesting conversations, be there for each other in difficult times, and be each other's safe secure place. I want a man who is willing and interested in growing personally. I do not expect perfection in a person or a relationship, I certainly am not perfect, but I do expect willingness to work through conflict, reflect, and take ownership and apologize. I would love a man who is a maker, has skills with homesteading stuff, and believes in the importance of traditional skills.

I believe love is a powerful force, and I also believe love should be shown not just in words but in actions. A good relationship means each person is in service to the other, seeking to love and be there for the other person in the way that they need.

Right now at our place I have fruit trees planted (5 years old), a lot of chickens and two ducks, and lots of project needs and ideas. We have often raised pigs for butchering, and have had goats and sheep that we rotationally grazed. Right now I am not up for more animals on my own, but if someone else wants to take on animals that's great. There is a lot of potential here and I am absolutely open to new ideas with a new partner. I would love a root cellar, a big wood shed, more trees, and a small addition on our little old farmhouse.

I do not have a tractor or other machines, I prefer hand tools (although I do use some battery powered tools), and we live mostly off-grid but have some amenities. We have electricity in the barn (300 feet from the house) but not the house. We do charge a couple small batteries to use a light and power the landline. I currently have internet for my daughter in high school but plan to get rid of it (The library with internet is 7 miles away). I have water coming in to the house from a ram pump, and we use a bucket toilet. I do have a laptop.

We have sand hill cranes that come through our valley, bard owls at night, many songbirds. I love hot tea in the early mornings and watching the sunrise. I love deep conversation, long walks/hikes, and believe in the importance of community and generosity. I do not like how everything has become commodified.

I am very loving, passionate, honest, committed, and genuine. I am only interested in monogamous relationships. I am spiritual but not religious.

I love to read both fiction and nonfiction. I want a man who is also a reader. I am currently reading Paul Kingsnorth's Against the Machine along with some friends, to talk about together. I am anti-technology, believing it is only hurting us, isolating us, and numbing us.

I do not have a smartphone. I do have a flip-phone to be on call for midwifery, but use it only for voice calls and mostly only when I am on call. I have never texted and will not. I love writing letters and would be happy to exchange real letters with someone.

I am 5'4", average build, long brown hair. I don't want a picture on the internet but I will send you one.

Hoping to hear from the right man. You are welcome to ask me more questions.

So you made a portal in time and started grabbing people. This tiny ad thinks that's rude:
