We’re running our Permaculture Earthworks and Water Harvesting Course at Blue Paradise Farms in Jamaica and you are invited!

  • Do you fancy building your own natural swimming pool - one that's self-cleaning and which requires no chemicals?
  • Do you want to learn Key Earthwork Strategies to care for your land?
  • Do you want to develop your theoretical understanding of the diverse field of Permaculture and also gain hands-on experience?
  • Are you considering a career change?

  • Then join us on this stimulating hands-on course as we explore the interconnection between soil, agriculture, agro-forestry, watersheds, climate and seasonality and permaculture design as it pertains to earthworks. We will link these concepts into a comprehensive regenerative strategy for the development of a permaculture site. Knowledge acquired on this course will be applied in the development of an earthworks plan for the Blue Paradise Farms Permaculture site. We will layout key portions of the site and begin on-site construction of structures such as swales and a natural pool working with hand tools up to large machines.

  • We provide you with a class handbook so you can review the course at home.
  • Your teachers meet with you and give you feedback about your personal site to help guide your design. Please feel free to bring a plat or topographic map of your own site.
  • Ethical Bribe: 3 Day's FREE self-catering accommodation at Blue Paradise Farms after the course to relax, go sightseeing or help around the site.

  • This is an Advanced Permaculture Course lead by specialist instructors Jeremiah Kidd and J. Samuel Burnett-Ragueneau both of whom have a wealth of knowledge and experience and offer guidance on where to go after the course is through.

This course promises to be a great networking opportunity and a chance to make friends with like-minded people from different countries as we aim to attract such students.

Classes finish at 3 p.m. daily to allow students time to relax, have fun on site or enjoy the natural wonders of the local area: bird sanctuary, waterfalls, beaches, caves etc.

    Course Dates: February 23 - 28, 2015.
