Hi all,

I'm Alexandre, French, living in Chile. I've been keeping bees near Santiago for about four years, usually four or five colonies.

I work in technology for a living, and in my spare time I like tinkering, with hives as much as with gadgets. Most of what I know about bees comes from forums like this one and from my own mistakes in the yard.

The only gadget I bring to the apiary is my phone. I talk through each inspection out loud instead of writing notes, because my notebook never survived a full season. I eventually built an app around that habit, a nice way to marry a passion (bees) with what I do for a living (software).

I'm mostly here to read and learn, especially from people who keep things simple.

Alexandre
