Soooo....
Marjory Wildcraft is an amazing buddy of permies.com who reached out to me this week to see if I knew of anyone who would be good for an editing job she just had open up. You all are lucky because I don't really know of anyone at this moment so she said it would be cool if I posted the job posting here! It looks like it would be an amazing opportunity and she also said you can work from anywhere, only traveling is for company gatherings but those are fun!
So here are the details:
Opportunity: Editor
We are looking for a dynamic A+ player to join our crew as we create the most useful, simple, and fun resource on the web for producing, preparing, and preserving your own food and medicine. You’ll do that by finding and posting high quality content, organizing contests and challenges, put together amazing newsletters that get read and are valued, figure out (and implement) features that really serve the purpose, and collaborate on bigger organizational projects.
We are dedicated to “homegrown food on every table”. Our primary value is
freedom. Our company culture is of a team of rugged adventurers out to make a difference in the world. We are a distributed company with members all over the US. Those with a life-attitude of being on an expedition in the backcountry will like working in this environment.
You are a person that knows you can work anywhere, but chooses to work with us.
And here are some specifics: Bright eyed, self-starter, eager-beaver, situationally aware, go-get-‘em, cooperative, positive, non-complaining, grateful, rejoicing, get’er done, dependable, faithful, perseverant, take-responsibility, uber flexible, and passionate about making a difference in the world. We are very, very, very discriminatory on attitudes and values (but not gender, race, or age).
Compensation: Here is how it works. This is a “get in on the ground floor and work long for very little, but get rewarded very well later” kind of deal. We can initially only pay you for self-directed, part-time, contract work to start (we know you are worth much, much more). As our combined efforts build the subscribers, sales, and memberships you’ll get to full-time with a solid income. Beyond that, as the business grows, and based on performance, you’ll be earning bonuses, benefits, and
profit sharing. We love throwing parties and celebrating upon success of big projects. We are also really into supporting professional development.
Skills and Attributes Needed (please don’t apply if you don’t meet these criteria).
· 5-years editorial
experience preferably in blogging,
online news or
magazine, and/or Internet marketing businesses.
· A natural born spell-checker and grammar nitpicker (one of our weaknesses).
· An instinct for organizing and categorizing with simple clarity.
· A passion for homegrown food and good health.
· A wizard with WordPress, HTML, Microsoft Office, and Email autoresponders.
· Able to create graphics and edit photos.
· Big plusses go for Infusionsoft and/or video editing experience.
· And of course, you’ve got to have excellent time-management and communication skills with an ability to balance multiple projects.
