LIVING WATER SYSTEMS APPRENTICESHIP: April 20 - July 10
*Apply by January 15th to be considered for the Early Bird $1000 Discount*

LEARN: You will be part of a small team that goes through the step-by-step process of bringing a water system to life! Gain direct, hands-on, closely mentored experience working on Ashevillage's 30,000 gallon, 5-pond, recirculating rain- and storm-water catchment system.

FEATURES INCLUDE: Myco- and bio-remediation, mini dams, two stone waterfalls, aquaculture with nine varieties of fish and other critters, an edible and pollinator-friendly canal, and traversing various micro-climates. You will learn from the original design and what didn't work on previous parts of this system. Pipes, pumps, simple engineering, other rainwater harvesting techniques, such as dams, swales, terraces, and keyline systems will all be reviewed. Differing soil types, vegetation, watersheds, regions, and climates will be addressed. You will also participate in some natural building projects.

APPRENTICES will be part of a select group that includes three water-system enthusiasts. You will work closely for 12 weeks with Ashevillage's Site Manager, as well as participate in a week-long workshop with the internationally-recognized master designer, Brock Dolman. Some college credit may be available should you request it.
