Was looking into reusing rainwater into drinking water, but there is nothing that really tells you what it would cost to put in a WOM. There is plenty of info on what it is or how it works but with filtration, pump, shut off valves, and couplings I am guessing about $800-$1200. This would be to supply 4-6 people living in a house and would be the only source of water.

Gabe Escobedo : In another post you mentioned your location as close to St. Louis Mo., this is always an important thing to share. Actually you can go to the top
of this page below the Permies Banner and above the Permies video of the Week, to the Permies Tool box and the [My Profile] TAB, clicking on that will take
you to a new page where you can enter the information that you are comfortable with and will help you make contact with Fellow Members who are near
neighbors! You may want to practice using our [Search] function too - also in the Permies toolbox.

Look at your name space and L@@K at mine !

Water Organization Module, People who use words like that want to make the whole thing more complicated than it is, this distracts you from the bottom line!

You need to count up Every water use in gallons used per flush, times total people+ Showers times total people+, and washing, and cooking, . You will be
surprised how fast it adds up ! Are you comfortable with ''If its yellow let it mellow, if its brown flush it down ?!''

If it doesn't get flushed it is a candidate for recycling, and a grey water system , a Different Forum Thread! Are you willing to divert and save washing
machine water and shower water for flushing water!

Like the air tube and a leach field the location of any holding tanks should be carefully planned, don't get in a situation where you find yourself digging up some
thing you have previously installed to put something new in !

Start by breaking this down into small steps, baby steps if you have to, depending on your skill set and the officiousness of your local Code Enforcement Officer
you may be able to be your own contractor for these steps, or need to hire it done, expect labor to run 1.5 Xs the Cost of materials !

Your holding tank should be buried to take advantage of the fact that the earth below your frost line should stay about 55º-60º year round, this and a good sand
filter will Reduce active germ growth, then a bread box -batch water heater can boost temps to at least 140ºF The Exposure time for germ killing at that
temp can be greatly reduced if strong UV Light is also used !

I am going to ask a moderator to move this post to Rainwater catchment Where you should find more informed Members with Answers ! Big AL

I know this question was posted a while ago, but here is a blog on building your own WOM and includes pricing info: http://www.lakeoftheozarkspermaculture.com/rainwater-harvesting/water-treatment-rainwater-harvesting-wom/

Costs around $1,000 to build yourself.
