I've been reading about swales quite a bit, and figured I'd put some in after I've had a little more time observing my land. But I'm also now reading about Yeomans keylines, and wondering if that would be a better option. Most of my land is about a 6-10% grade, decent soil, and 45-50 inches of precip a year. I feel like I could do a lot in the way of harvesting and using all that water, but I want to make sure I do it right the first time.

Is there a good write-up or video that directly compares the two, and offers advice on how to decide?

It might not have to be an either or situation; Geoff Lawton's article on keyline swales is very informative on the subject.
