I am building an outdoor shower stall, right on top of a tote filled with soil, basically a raised bed.
I want to grow some vines up and around the enclosure.
Any suggestions?

William Bronson :It certainly wood be nice if the vines covering your outdoor shower could produce an Edible Fruit /Veg - If you want something sure fire
that a lot of people have had good luck with I can recommend Wild Cucumber It should radially cover your shower and provide a source for chop and drop
material for soil augmentation. It handles partial to full shade well and with lots of water should do even better in direct sunlight!

I have even seen it group to cover the inside of a canvas walled Tipi ! Good luck! For the good of the Craft ! Big AL

Great suggestion! That is what my PFAF search came up with, among others. I plan on filling the tote with composting worms, and use it to filter the shower and sink discharge before it goes to the blackberries mulch pits.
I have also considered annual beans, scarlet runner beans, bamboo(!) , Italian tree tomatoes, oyster mushrooms, mimosa, grapes, rose of Sharon, and many more.

I would also add hops to the list! I have them planted around a lattice-covered storage area, and by early June they have the whole area hidden.

William : I missed your post, and then the earthquake and the dog ate my homework !

Please note there is a difference between Creeping cucumbers edible smooth and very small walnut sized - AND the NON-Edible wild cucumber

Small with fleshy spicks about small walnut sized !

I am very sure that the wild cucumber and the Loofah Plant are distantly related

All parts of the Wild Cucumber smell like Cucumber when squashed !

I don't think the seeds are edible, they are large and about the color of Fishermans Friends Cough Drops

Soon after the plant dies in the fall the spiked seed pod splits open and the seeds fall out all of the old plants have shed their seeds and we must
wait for a fall crop !

Can you remind me about the 1st of sept And I will gladly send you some !

(there, that gives me time to find some viable plants ) For the Crafts ! Big AL
