Permaculture at the Caribbean island of Curaçao

It has been a long time. Time to tell more. I am still in the Netherlands (I feel I am needed here at the moment), but the other projects I promote (through blog mentioned in the first post and facebook page CuraDura) are doing well! About a year ago Roland van Reenen, who worked for an organic cooperation in the Netherlands, emigrated to Curaçao and immediately started planting his Food Forest. He named his entreprise (v)Ital. Ital is a Rasta word and its meaning is about the same as permaculture. He went out to search for people growing organic on the island and organised meetings, so they were able to start co-operating. They informed potential clients through the media and found a way to sell their products: a weekly 'veggie-bag' for subscribers. Roland made some youtube-videos on his activities (mostly spoken in Dutch, sometimes English). Like this one, a visit to organic farmer Blaize Steward:    

I am so glad to see permaculture works at Curaçao. I knew it was possible, but never imagined it could go so well in only a year! Thanks to Roland, and all previously unknown farmers at Curaçao!

As I said: I am still in the Netherlands. But the idea of going to Curaçao (not just for a vacation, but to stay there) is getting stronger again. I can tell you: this island is addictive! When I think of it, of its opportunities, of my permaculture-dreams for it, and when I see how it's going there now in Roland's photos and videos  ...
... when the feeling 'I am needed here' becomes less (because the project Permacultuur Meppel is doing fine) and the feeling 'I am needed there, at Curaçao' becomes more, I will do the leap.
