closed on thanksgiving

So, a family member went to the dump today but it was closed. It's always been open on a Saturday before, so why closed today?

Then we realized, it's Thanksgiving weekend here. Never heard of a dump closed on Thanksgiving before...
..."and with tears in our eyes, we drove off into the sunset lookin' for another place to put the Garbage."

Anyone else get the reference. I thought it was funny.

Saw the first advert for Thanksgiving specials today.  Reminded me we need to make our annual garbage drop off.

Our dump is closed for almost any holiday or if there is a parade going on ...

And it is only open on Friday/Saturday...
