Hi folks. Beautiful day up here in Quebec.

Im currently building by hand beds to grow gourmet garlic.
Beds are the standard biointensive size, 2x5m.
I'm doing one single fork dig of 12". Then add the topsoil of path which makes the bed 1inch thicker.
The beds are amended with dolomitic lime (10kg per bed) as ph was 5.1.
I have access to composted cow manure as well as composted green clippings. I was thinking of planting the cloves now, only one inch deep and then top it off with the two composts and then cover with hay. Adding the compost after planting will save me planting the garlic too deep.

I was also thinking of planting the garlic in triangle shape with a radius of 20cm in between. It would give each clove a superficy of 314cm2 to grow (pixr2). Sorry for the last of proper symbol im using a smartphone.

Does this sound like it would be a success for garlic? of course, compost tea for spring time. But as I'm doing this now, for thw first timw, inputs are more than welcome.

That should work. our pH is 6.5 for the garlic bed and compost and composted manure is the nutrient amendment.
We use a double dug raised bed and space cloves 8 cm apart on all axis, planting at a depth of 3 cm.

The allium family is the number 1 crop in yeild increase in response to mycorizae innoculation. Granular is easy to apply at planting time. It must next to seed (bulb) or it is wasted. Also responds great to fish emulsion foliar. Good luck!
