At last week's NW
Permaculture Convergence we decided to offer a unique intern-focused
Permaculture Design Certification (
PDC) course at rock-bottom price. The course will provide intern level farmers the opportunity to get
Permaculture certified, learn permaculture-related skills and gain design capabilities, and get connected with potential
permaculture farm placements in the NW.
Our (
PDC) course will be a creative, engaging, and fun learning environment – project-based and interactive.
The course cost is $300 for food, utilities and course materials. There will be 14 days of course instruction interspersed with 7 days of "work trade" - interesting projects that will also be part of the course (including building our 20 X 40
solar greenhouse with natural building methods; designing and planting out a food forest from our Permaculture nursery; propagating more inventory for our nursery, and more. The design challenge will be a novel "guerrilla Permaculture" design intended to educate the
local community, promote the value of Permaculture design, and push the envelope for innovative whole-systems watershed management.
