Hi there,

They were growing on dead wood on my farm. They look like schizophyllum commune but I wanted to check to be sure. I just planted some young fruit trees and was thinking of putting some in the straw under my new young fruit trees to create a larger mycelium network. If it is in fact schizophyllum commune, will this be ok for young fruit trees?

Schizophyllum commune would NOT be ok for your fruit trees. It is parasitic and will kill them. WHat you have there is not schizophyllum commune, split gill fungus.
