I have been putting the pond slugde from my filter on plant beds, which judging by the smell is anarobic. I am now thinking this not good and would appear to be proving out. Am I corect in this assumtion and how could I make use of this waste?
Hi Steve. How much pond sludge are you dealing with? My guess is that this sludge is high in ammonia. I would mix your sludge with some carbon-rich material such as shredded cardboard, shredded newspaper, sawdust &/or a bunch of dried leaves. This should balance the carbon/nitrogen ratio and help to alleviate the anaerobic stink
