Recycling clothing

We all know we can donate unwanted good clothing to Good Will or some other Second hand outlet, but here are a few alternatives.

I came across store yesterday called Pass It On.  It is located on 1st street next to Carlo's One Night Stand. 

They recycle good used maternity, infant and childrens clothing.  They are affiliated with the Mountain Home Project which helps young pregnant girls get the services they need, job skills, maternity clothing and baby supplies and clothing. 

The 2nd Annual Funky Junk Fashion Show will be held at The Green Light (Higgins) Saturday October 23rd at 5:00 p.m. 

Free Beer and Wine.  $2.00 cover.  If you donate good used clothing the cover is only $1.00.  Proceeds go towards YWCA.

I like remaking used clothing into new outfits.

Most communities with any sort of support organization for low income families have means to help distribute/recycle good childrens clothing and sports equipment so it is optimally reused and likely appreciated. 

The conventional thrift store chains  for profit proliferate here and they are big business but there are often hospital auxilliaries and other great thrift stores.  I tend to buy at consignment shops as you get very good quality at a hugely discounted price on barely worn things , even a barn troll like me likes to dress up once in a while.
