I am no stranger to home-microbiology, I have made bokashi bran from scratch, yogurt, cheese, sauerkraut, wine, I keep milk kefir going all the time. I have a hive that has a what appears at first glance to have European foulbrood  (I was looking for queen cells and didn't plan on doing a full hive inspection, didn't have time or my suit on so I will have to go look again more carefully as to how bad and how many frames were affected.  I tend to think probiotic as opposed to antibiotic when it comes to healing.  That being said how hard could it be to make a bag of probiotic supplement for bees like Strong microbials super dfm.  I think it would go a long way to strengthening the hive and helping them eliminate this disease.  I am a no-treat kind of beekeeper but I see no downside to supplementing them with something like this.  I take probiotics and probiotic rich foods daily, why shouldn't the bees!  Anyone have a clue how to make something like this?  its anywhere from 60 cents to 10 dollars per treatment depending on the size of bag you purchase.  I have followed a recipe for making em-1 inoculant for making bokashi bran (for a fraction of the cost of buying bokashi bran)  I cant see this being much different of a process.

Here is the label, not exactly ingredients you just find at a grocery store and mix together...

Hello John Master! I am a co-founder and CTO of Strong Microbials. I am glad you are curious to find out how SuperDFM-HoneyBee is made. We actually make it in Milwaukee, WI and I would like to invite you to come out and visit us and see the process. Please email me vss@strongmicrobials.com if you are interested. Sincerely, Vera.
