cow dung and ponds?

Can cow dung be used to line the bottom of a pond and seal it?

We keep cows and a mule, no pigs or poultry (dogs would eat them), so the only kind of manure I have is from cows! Will this work?

Geoff lawton has spoke of fencing cows into ponds and feeding them in place to seal a pond.
