I very much like this. I think he should trim up the lower branches on those puppies a bit so that they can get in there and scratch around a bit. That's one of the benefits to having a mixed flock. Say guineas to reach up high and pick off bugs while some bantam chickens crawl under the bush and scratch around a bit. No birds right now, and I spend what seems like forever picking those damnable bugs off our goosberries.
