Here is a system I have going for my garden and my coop.
Is using the
water a no no on the veggies? I've been using it to water once in a while on leafy greens (I try not to splash, but I'll totally admit a lot of leaves get some of the dirty water on them). and on everything else I have growing over here. I only water with it about once a week right now, and have noticed that some things have been getting a little burnt, but mainly just small plants that aren't quite established yet.
I don't mind a little "risk" as far as in "it's possible" that I could get salmonella poisoning......in the same way I don't mind risking falling off a cliff when I'm out mountain biking.
Is this something I definitely
should not be doing?
Another question is for the ducks. I haven't made any sort of house for them. They just kind of sleep wherever they want on the ground at night. The only thing that can get in the coop are rats and
mice, and I've never seen any indication of a rat, but I'm sure mice are in there all the time. The
chickens have always slept right under the plywood with no protection otherwise, and for the three prior years (before I moved them into the pool) they slept in a completely open coop in the
yard. The door was always open, and they had complete free range of the yard 24/7. I've never had any predator problem.
Feel free to tell me anything else you might do, or wouldn't be doing.
I'm trying to copy Paul from Back to Eden.
Thanks
