Made a mason bee house with my granddaughter and we put it out around the first of May. It's now June 13 and I noticed about half of the holes are packed with mud. Will the cocoons incubate over the winter? Seems like a long time. We live in New England

They should overwinter and "hatch" in the spring.

Mason bees are vulnerable to pests (wasps and mites, etc) and if their nesting holes are not cleaned out every year, you will lose bees and eventually they will no longer nest in your bee home.

You can also go on YouTube and search for mason bees and find good videos there as well.
