Does anyone know what this berry bush is called. It grows in a similar form to an azalea. In fact, I could see using it in any landscaping situation that calls for azaleas.
The fruit leaves a residue on the tongue. The taste is similar to autumn olives.
The berries turn red when they are ripe. I've found that they are much easier to locate if each branch is lifted up. It can look like there's nothing ready until the branch is lifted and the dangling fruit can easily be seen.
They are growing in a public food forest, which is why I ate some, without checking first.
