Hello!
My partner and I are going to be looking for a new home in the fall and we'd like it to be an existing
intentional community. I've been searching through the ic.org website and contacting people, but I was just wondering if any of you might know of other opportunities or places to look.
What we're looking for is a frugal,
sustainable situation that is not located in an area that's especially vulnerable to natural disasters. We currently live in the Pacific Northwest, where we're constantly being warned about the Cascadia Subduction Zone.
We'd like to find either a farming community that has close ties to an urban community or vice versa. We don't really have $$ to speak of, so we'd need a situaion where we could work in exchange for food and housing and/or where I could run my small at-home business. I make cloth menstrual pads and
sell them on my website and at the
local farmers market.
My only farm
experience is that I picked berries every summer from age 9 to 18 and loved it. We don't have any
permaculture experience but we are willing to learn and work hard.
We're in our 30s and we have two neutered male cats, one of whom is a senior.
Thanks!
