RMH fan assist/control

I am currently working on my RMH design. I intend to put in the basement. I have read all over the internet about issues with this. The biggest seems to be draft issues. Since this seems to be a very efficient system I was wondering if fan control has been discussed. This would guarantee certain cfm flow. Any comments or experiences would be welcome.

The big red flag here is that if the draft depends on a fan, you are in trouble if the power goes out or the fan breaks down while the fire is going. Other systems will just stop working if the power fails, but a wood fire will keep giving off flame and potentially smoke and carbon monoxide if the draft fails.

True, but this is quickly solved with a dc fan and battery backup. It is a good caution that I will keep in mind in my design.
