Odds of cob working in high humidity?

I live in Swampeast Missouri where it feels like you are swimming in slime all summer. I plan to live in a yurt temporarily until I can build a cob house. But I hear naysayers telling me cob won't work in our high humidity. What say you?

This is the first issue brought up by the author at barefoot builder. Cob is super resilient to all conditions. Humidity is no problem and a properly maintained building can withstand extreme weather.
