Recent college grad seeks to heal the earth

Hi all, I just graduated from the University of California, Davis with a bachelor's of science in hydrology and now I'm trying to figure out what to do next. I am a permaculturist with a keen interest in ecosystem restoration and 12-13 months worth of wwoofing experience. My true desire is to move to John D. Liu's ecosystem restoration camp in southern Spain (https://www.ecosystemrestorationcamps.org/) and work on that project indefinitely, but as an American I can only secure a tourist visa for 90 days per year. I'm looking for an opportunity that would allow a young educated person such as myself to participate in a large-scale restoration project. Any advice is welcome. Thanks!

Wow Max, awesome vision. If I was in possession of my land already I would love to have you out for a while. You can see some pics of my great-grandparents homestead on the Permian Red Beds of Western Oklahoma. They farmed but the land could not take it. The 100' deep gullies are not their fault but could use some love anyway. There are some head-cuts that need stabilizing. I'd like to visit with you about it over at Re-homesteading in the Dust Bowl

On an off-chance - I bet there's many riverside businesses in France today who would love to hear from a hydrologist what might be done to avoid another river breach.

We've got to stop saying things in the news like "three months of rain fell in three hours". No. It was merely 3 hours of rain. Old records are an artifact, not a measuring device. Sorry they lost their towns, not sorry for mocking the rhetoric that today's weather is still comparable to the past like these storms are merely anomalies.

I understand the US is having difficulty with water too, to put it mildly, bound to be something you can do there.
