The quail like to hang out in my herb garden under my window.  They are very good at eliminating weeds and bugs.

I'm a bit worried there aren't many girls this year, but they are shy.

I think we get California Quail in our area.  But actually, I don't know.  We might get more than one variety.  I have to go look it up.

Funny thing about the quail, their favourite places are in the invasive species 'deserts' we haven't turned into polycultures yet.  They may be fairly mono-culture in plants, but they are a teaming with different wildlife so we've just been keeping the invasives confined to small-ish patches.
