Hi folks,

I'm building a new pig pen and there is a lot of horse tail in this area.  I've heard that it is bad for pigs.  Anybody have experience or direct knowledge of this?  I know what google says, but I don't trust that necessarily.

Thanks

Hi folks,

Anyone have experience with using electric net for a pig fence?  Is it a good idea? Looking for portable option for rotating pigs on pasture.

Here in BC, we have a great interlibrary loan system.  Our local library is very useful, and it is made even more useful by providing access to all the BC libraries.  Also, in BC if you have a library card from one library, you can sign out books from all the other public libraries. So, when we are traveling as a family, we make a point of stopping at other libraries and checking out books from their collections.  We can then return them at any other BC library.

The Window

She stood there by the window
Leaning lightly on the sill
The snow was falling gently
And the air, it had a chill

She stood there by the window
Gazing out on to the street
The trees were all quite frosty
Looking elegant and neat

She stood there by the window
Looking at the winter night
The snow, it kept on falling
It was such a peaceful sight

She stood there by the window
Paws pressed up against the glass
The peaceful silence broken
Cause she barks as people pass

Looks cool.  Good thing you didn't use a four door car....then is would be a chicken sedan.

Also called a stirrup hoe.  Works great for taking down small weeds.

Yes, a chimney is important.  The barrel stove won't draw well without at least a few feet of chimney.

I have one in my shop.  Pretty happy with it.  The parts are a little crude so I wouldn't use it in a living space, but outside as you suggest is a great idea. As was mentioned protect the bottom.  I maintain a good layer of ash to insulate the bottom.
