Looks like a great bundle here. One question... Are any of the video/movie downloads? Hard to do a 2 hour or more in one sitting when you live off grid.

This is the store we had in our little village. It started as an open air gazebo with a tree growing out through the roof. Ended as a fully enclosed gift shop with the tree still growing out through the roof. He and I did all the work to build it including him milling the lumber with an Alaska chain saw mill. The big knots in the posts are spruce trees with burls that grew on them. Store was closed about 10 years ago when some of the rules for building and the rent costs got to high. We did not own the building, but the owner had let us make the modifications to make it work for a gift shop instead of the gazebo it had been.

Paul, I'm sorry to hear this. I'm afraid about all I can off is verbal support and prayers.  But they are both yours.
I agree. Will be waiting for updates on how this progresses. I would love a few of those on my place.

I supported on both Low Tech Labs 1 & 2. However, I just checked "my stuff" again and it is there now.  Thanks for responding so quickly. Looks like I'm good afterall.

Hi Vickey! Are you a kickstarter backer?

If so, can you please post here to sort you out?

In todays Dailyish Newsletter this comment was made:
I didn't realize the sawmill at Wheaton Labs was solar!   That would be amazing to use!

I would love to find out more about this, seeing any photos available. Have not been able to find anything about it.  Can someone point me in the right direction to find it?

Can someone please advise.

It does not have to be vacuum sealed. The mylar bags are heat sealed with oxygen absorbers inside. but it does not vacuum them. the bags do not end up hard vacuumed. There are still other gases in the bag so it is not like a hard package or tightly formed to the product.

I vacuum seal things for the freezer, and the seal frequently do not stay air tight. They frequently lose the vacuum. I have tried multiple brands of machines and bags over the years. It will vacuum but only for a short time.

The mylar bags stay heat sealed until you cut them open. And I usually use more oxygen absorbers than recommended for the size and product just to hold things longer.

I live in a state where there are many things that can cut us off from supplies. We are in a semi remote village in Alaska. The state is already at the end of the food supply chain, then we also have the possibility of earthquakes, avalanches, snow storms, freezing rain, icy roads, and all that is before we get to man made issues like trucking strikes, lack of employees and so on. Having a way to make sure my things stay sealed and fresh for as long as possible... To me that is a big deal.  I've seen folks get snowed in for more than two weeks at a time until plows could catch up with all the snow that we got in a two day period.

Quite generous. Thank you for the chance. Your site looks great. Wonderful variety and things I didn't know could be grown this far north.

Quick question I saw the shipping dates for zone 1 to 3 as being May 6, I'm in a small village in Alaska 100 miles north of Anchorage. Zone 3b.   Is there any way to ship a bit later? We can't usually plant outside until Memorial day.

If you copy and paste these images into Photoshop or any good image editing program and zoom in there is no obvious weave to either bag. They both appear to be crocheted. with the second bag they appeared to crochet around a twisted "rope" of the material.
