I drove by a place yesterday that had a giant stack of old glass windows of all shapes and sizes. no time to stop yesterday but, with $1000 I would build a long lasting greenhouse with no plastic anywhere involved.
$200 or even $1000 doesn't go very far these days. just a big dump truck load of crushed rock or stones is about $650 around here. would be nice to have that for greenhouse floor but not necessary as the ground here is mostly very slippery when wet clay.

unfortunately an unknown amount of knowledge though history has been lost?
for example. how exactly were those giant megalithic stones, building blocks, moved? some weighing an estimated 1000 to 1600 tons.

there are so many great ideas on this web site on building on a budget and there has never been a greater need for affordable housing.
I made my first ever web site I would like to share FineForCongressTN.com

I love this. he is a nearly unequaled master. at about 1 minute in for about next 20 seconds then again starting at about 2 minutes 35 seconds in watch very very closely how he uses his left hand. notice how his thumb stands solidly planted in the same place while the rest of his hand moves fluidly over 6 full frets. for mere mortals this might take. oh. about maybe what? 10,000 hours of practice.
something to aspire for and work towards.

I am proud to announce here I am taking action to make changes for the good of all with the encouragement and support of friends, neighbors, family and strangers I am on the ballot running as an independent candidate for United States House of Representatives in Tennessee District 2. a truly David vs Goliath endeavor. web site will be up soon.
I will add this happened totally organically over just the past week or so. I had never in my life ever even thought of getting involved in politics.

Pileated woodpecker. I heard one pecking pin a tree nearby when I went out to feed the cats this morning. one of the most beautiful and majestic creatures I had ever seen with my own eyes. this one was a full 18 inches or more tall.
the first time I saw one I was sitting outside on the porch and it landed and started pecking on a rotted tree trunk about 15 feet away. what a sight! a memory that simply will not fade. one day I was out in the barn using an air powered impact tool and the woodpecker was responding to the sound.

I'm no expert but have been playing guitar for fun for 48 years I first learned in high school 10th grade mr smiths guitar class. just a suggestion here. t might be easier and more rewarding to learn basic chords first and learn some simple popular songs you might like. this will give you the ability to feel comfortable with the instrument. then you can go on to work on mastering the classical skills. there is no substitute for a good guitar teacher not all of us are born prodigies. and trying to play or learn on a cruddy not set up well guitar has destroyed the aspirations of more than we might know. if I had had a really good guitar teacher after mr smiths class where I learned the basics or had been around other masters of the instrument I would probably be a professional entertainer or even a rock star today. but I was never really interested in popularity or fame.
here is a master guitar player who I greatly respect that blended classical and pop

all of my trees have come from state department of forestry seedling programs.
if anyone is near what was previously the West Virginia state tree nursery, clements tree nursery in Mason county west Virginia, prior home to Samuel clements (mark Twain's) grandparents
there should be a large stand of American chestnut trees there and maybe even Chinese chestnut trees that the state used to offer for sale.
im still curious what ever became of the place since the West Virginia legislature shut it down.

you can only use so many for cleaning carburetor jets, hanging pictures and decorative items. and binding fibers to a stick to make your own brushes. or even making survival snares. what else am I leaving out. a lot of us put on fresh strings before every gig. there is no sense playing with dull dead strings and have chance of one of them popping while trying to entertain others.
but there is nothing like putting a new set of strings on a good guitar to get great sound out of it. Just my $.02, your mileage may vary
