On Blue Ridge: Milk Goats are Great Food Security. Here, making cheeses, kefir, different yogurt ferments for ourselves and for shareable income. ( milking by machine)
Also lots of berries, veggie and medicinal plants. All organic-in field and kitchen. Lots of picking and prepping, no grunt work but lots of walking and mindfulness.
Also infrastructure improvements. Solar cabin hookup, yurt restoration, closing in a tiny house on wheels.
Very rich, private and diverse landscape to take Goatey Ma’s out to browse-2-4 hrs a day. Wake with them and set your circadian rhythm.  As Goateys go- they’re a friendly bunch. No horns no buck no stink.
Come learn. Long or short term.  Tell us about yourself and your needs. Thanks !

Hi Sera
Thanks for your interest. Here we are very hands on with Goatey Ma’s. Maybe fiber goats hang in pasture without much interaction. Have you worked w goats?  Been on a goat farm? Lots to learn just caring for them. And, theres the Milk that needs daily attention. We spend about 5 hrs a day- goat milking, walking, feeding, processing or bottling milk. 7 days a week. Best shared. The trick is- doing the math, the fence, our time, going to town to deliver, freezing surplus. Goats gotta pay their way. Can fiber goats? Know of someone who is making a living w fiber? Many more steps before sales.
Yes, helping an established farm is better than starting from scratch. Tell me more about your capacity to dedicate yourself. The Permie part of permie.
