Personally, I'm a sucker for sepia, for both the front and the back of the cards. I think it suits the old world style of the cards.

I'm still a newbie at all of this, so I'm interested in The Beginning Gardener's Toolbox eBook.

Thanks for sharing, Paul.

It is a really brave thing to come out and admit that you are unwell, particularly when you thought you should be well. There are lots of things I could say, and I may still do so in your private forum, but for now, this may be of help.

Kelly Turner, Ph.D., founder of the Radical Remission Project, is the author of a remarkable book called Radical Remission: Surviving Cancer Against All Odds. She surveyed hundreds of cancer survivors to find out what they did, and came up with a list of around 100. However, there were 9 things that they ALL did:

   • Radically changed their diet
   • Took control of their health
   • Followed their intuition
   • Used herbs and supplements
       ◦ Herbs and supplements - help clear out the body (detox)
       ◦ Herbs and supplements - boost the immune system
       ◦ Herbs and supplements - help with relaxation and meditation/prayer
   • Increased positive emotions (An attitude of Gratitude)
   • Embraced social support
   • Deepened their spiritual connection
   • Have strong reasons for living

You may be doing most of these already. You also have our prayers.
While this may be caused by something external, skin issues are often a sign of something going on internally as well. I see that others have suggested allergies, which is a good start. But has her doctor done any blood tests to see if she is suffering from any kind of deficiency or toxicity? Have they done any skin samples to see if it could be bacterial? A dermatologist is likely to do the latter but not the former.

Without knowing her medical history, here are some other suggestions she could try:

- get started on a quality multivitamin and mineral supplement
- take a collagen supplement, or SMS, both of which are necessary for cell regeneration
- there are other essential oils that work well for bacterial and fungal infection. Try using a blend like Thieves (Young Living) or make up your own using Cinnamon Bark, Clove, Eucalyptus, Rosemary and Lemon essential oils in a carrier like liquid coconut oil, which is also antibacterial. Oregano and Thyme are also effective.
- what is her gut health like? Many skin symptoms can be faced back to poor gut health. Try removing sugar, wheat, dairy and processed foods from her diet so her gut can rest and rebuild good bacteria. Take a probiotic as well.

I hope these help!

I'm so excited to be a part of the permies community. My husband and I are planning to leave suburbia as soon as we are able (there is some stuff to do first), so we can live out our senior years as sustainably as we can somewhere in the country. Exactly where that will be is in God's hands, but we are learning as much as we can in the meantime.
