Half log staircase - PEM BB roundwood.straw.staircase

This is a badge bit (BB) that is part of the PEM curriculum.  Completing this BB is part of getting the straw badge in Round Wood Woodworking.

By now you have maybe practiced cutting logs in half.  What could you ever use such things for?  Let's make a beefy staircase with them!

 
 

Here's one way you could do it:


Mike's note: I'd propose that it's better to have the stair treads captured between the stringers, as on the couch balcony at Wheaton Labs or the top two pictures.  It seems like the staircase will hold together better and the treads will be prevented from rocking when weight is applied at the very edge.

Minimum requirements:
  - Make a sturdy staircase from half logs
  - At least 6 treads
  - No metal fasteners
  - Human scale

Provide proof of the following as pictures or video (<2 min):
  - The half logs you're starting with
  - Mid way through building the staircase
  - Joinery showing how it's put together
  - Finished staircase
