Hi
I am going to need help this spring summer fall.

I have a herd share goat dairy, milk, make cheese, deliver it.

I have lots of alpine pasture, I want to irrigate this year.  There is a stream, and we do have water rights.  It will be a gravity flow with ditches kind of thing.  I want to fence the goats out of the yard around my alpine cabin.  They like me so much, they hang out around the cabin.  While I am glad they like me, they have thousands of acres to browse on.

I also have a lulu of a fixer upper in town, needs earth work, possibly a rocket stove in the basement, a goat fence and soils work there too.

cabin at 8000 feet aspen and choke cherries, etc, spring water to drink.  A beautiful vista to the south.

Room and board in exchange for work.

I am an experienced WWOOF host.  I posted on the 'volunteers that make you go hmmmmm' thread.   https://permies.com/t/63795/Volunteers-Hmm   If interested   you might want to take a peek.  Also suggest you might read some of my posts here on Permies, as I used to be a frequent poster, and it might give you an insight.  Nowadays, I commute to the internet.  (local cafe, library, feedstore) so I no longer have the time...

PM me

Well, I guess I have to do this in installments.

A viable applicant would want to know a lot more than the above post.

Beginning with the goat thing, I raise pastured goats.  They get no grain, just a hand full of sunflower seeds on the milk stand.  I feed mineral rich sea salt, and some mineral supplements to support optimum health.  A person who stayed 6 weeks could learn how to milk goats, by machine and by hand, to make several kinds of cheese, and basic goat care.  I used to have"goat school", a 12 week program a person would pay for, and when they left, the idea was they would be "competent beginners".

About soils: I studied soil health with Elaine Ingham, I have a microscope for identifying soil organisms which a volunteer would have access to.

I live in the Plateau Valley, in Western Colorado, the mountain cabin is on the south facing slopes of Battlement Mesa.
