Hi all,

I recently posted about my ideas for utilising my wild urban pigeons for meat/poop here:

https://permies.com/bb/index.php?action=post;topic=10227.0;num_replies=2

I've abandoned that tack as wild pigeons seem risky in terms of being disease carriers.  Actually, there have been a lot more pigeons hanging around my yard lately, and I think they've figured out that there's seeds to be had (I toss some for my chickens some days).  Last week I had a chicken die from a respiratory problem, and I am worried that this could have been brought into my system by the wild pigeons.

As far as I can see my options are trapping & killing, or scaring off.  Can anyone think of a use for the pigeon meat that would not involve possible contamination or disease passing on?  If not then I think scaring away is my best option.  I thought I might try some of those shiny wine bladders hanging up around the coop if I choose this option.

Love to get some alternative ideas/views, thanks all.
