Alas, yes. They seem to be smoke and mirrors as far as I can see. I've made hundreds of calls...basically, if you don't have a job, you don't qualify for anything, and they won't even talk to you.
I'm investigating some offbeat ideas, like trying to donate my equity to a land trust. They would have to pay off the mortgage, but it's not that much, 80k. It may take too long to happen. But I'm thinking tiny working demonstration farm, foundation offices, gallery, something like that. I'm still trying to find a job and get stabilized.
AND I'm starting a new website sourcing "made in America". It's not completed yet, but check it out! At some point it's going to generate a bit of ad revenue, maybe not enough to be a living, but enough to supplement whatever else I'm doing. Just wish I had thought of it 6 months ago
