I thought it was well protected, but the rabbits got to it!
A snow drift piled up high above my protections due to strong windy blizzards this winter, and I have about 8ft of a Schisandra vine that is chewed off. Dismayed, I looked online to discover that this vine takes kindly to cuttings, which got me thinking... could I just trim off the rabbit damage, add some rooting hormone, and have the whole thing come back to life?
Wishful thinking, I know. Just curious what the limitations on cuttings are and how to possibly rescue this wonderful vine. We just planted it last year and it was quite prolific in its growth! At least the roots of the planted vine will be much stronger this year.
