Sweet Serenity
That enticing bliss
Leap before looking
To get your wish

Wholeness! My name is Sparrow Sinclair and I live with my fabulously feral family on a ‘little’ piece of land we call Serenity. Our dream is to build an off-grid paradise in the woods, where we live life on our own terms while creating community and helping others find serenity by hosting spiritual retreats, classes and other programs as well as blogging about our extreme homesteading adventures. Eventually (when the right person comes on board) we would like to have a small animal sanctuary on Serenity as well. FYI the person(s) we are looking for does not eat meat

We are a family of four living off-grid on 70 wooded acres in beautiful North Eastern Ohio. We share the land with one other family. Serenity is a gorgeous forest full of maples and oak trees with winding shale bottom creeks, a private swimming hole, a meadow full of wild flowers and two enchanting pine groves. She is the perfect foraging ground for morels, ramps, oyster mushrooms, blackberries, wild greens, herbs, roots, and bark for teas and salves, and more!

For the past three years we have been living in campers on the land while working on a variety of natural/eco-friendly building projects such as a studio yurt, shipping container home, bath house and barn. We have also been working on infrastructure for our mile long driveway, as well as continuing to add to our organic vegetable garden, herb/flower garden and moss garden.

After three years of blood, sweat, and tears, we are getting damn close to finishing the above mentioned building projects (of course the gardens will never be ‘finished’ and when one project ends there are ten more waiting!)

We are finally finding a flow within our unconventional lifestyle and are excited to see our abundance increasing exponentially to the point I now feel ready to extend an invitation to my soul-sister (or brother?), garden pal, and spiritual comrade who will help us manifest Serenity as a working sustainable off-grid homestead and spiritual retreat center.

To be sure, this is a position which will not be filled randomly or haphazardly. We are not looking for simple labor help (although there is a lot of labor involved in the deal!) Rather, the person(s) who join us on Serenity will be as excited and passionate about our vision as we are, as well as contributing their own ideas to the mix. This person will be a great friend and business partner, who gets up early in the morning ready to work damn hard but also makes sure to find time each day to just BE.

If you have skills and passion in organic gardening, wild foraging, herbal medicine, holistic health (animals and people), energy healing, vegetarian/vegan keto cooking, homeschooling, food preservation, business management, nonprofit, social media marketing, photography, carpentry, construction, natural building, mechanics (quadruple bonus points for large engine diesel mechanics), that is truly fantastic!  However, the most important qualities we are looking for is a desire to grow spiritually, a willingness to learn (I still don’t really know what I am doing half the time!) and a hard working ethos.

Essentially, if you are not afraid of dirt and hard work, have a desire to live deep in the woods on your own terms, away from pavement, traffic and out-of-control wifi signals, where you can connect deeply to Mother Earth, make intimate friends with the trees, and grow to your fullest spiritual potential, Serenity may be the place for you.

The process is simple; email me an introduction. Be frank and personal. Tell us who you are, what lights you up, your passions, and what you envision for your future. Tell us why you want to join us on Serenity and what you bring to the table. Then ask us some questions and we will respond in kind. After an email or two, if we seem to be a good fit, we will scale it up to some phone calls.

You sound perfect.

Any sufficiently advanced technology will be used as a cat toy. And this tiny ad contains a very small cat:
